NARCAN TRAINING

Save a Life - carry Naloxone

We provide Narcan training to any interested community members and organizations.

This training is a critical part of our mission to address the opioid crisis in our community, as research shows that increased naloxone (Narcan) access and training is a key tool for preventing overdose deaths.

Naloxone is a fast-acting opioid antagonist – this means it can reverse and block the effects of an opioid overdose. Our trainings prepare you to administer Narcan using an easy to use nasal spray.

When we prevent an overdose death, we give someone who is struggling with addiction an opportunity to make changes and work toward sobriety.

The training is quick and straightforward and can be scheduled to meet your needs. Once you’ve completed the training, you will receive a Narcan kit that typically includes 2 doses of naloxone, latex gloves, a fentanyl test strip, drug disposal kit, an illustrated user guide, and additional resources. In the event that you use your kit or when it expires, you can come back to us for a replacement.

Reach out to the Ketchikan Wellness Coalition to learn more about how you can participate in a Narcan training.
