About

What is Ody S.E.A.?

Camp OdySEA is a 4-day summer camp experience on a remote island in Southeast Alaska, focused on youth leadership in substance use prevention, mental health, and health equity. Camp will take place on June 11th- 14th, 2026 at Camp Lorraine on Vank Island in Wrangell, Alaska.

Who Should Attend

Open to youth/young adults ages 14yrs – 18yrs. We want local youth leaders, aspiring change makers, student-led civic, engaged learners, high school athletic groups, faith-based groups, youth mentors and advocates.

Why Should I Attend & What to Expect?

Why Attend:

  • Lead changes your way: youth-led, youth-driven experiences that put you in charge of health and wellness projects for your community.
  • Explore big topics (mental health, cultural identity, substance-use and suicide prevention) through hands-on activities and real conversations with peers and experts.
  • Gain practical tools for peer outreach, advocacy, and community action—built from your ideas and voice.
  • Form lasting connections with other youth leaders, mentors, and local partners while learning outdoors.

What to expect:

  • A 4-day immersive island experience in SE Alaska: wilderness, camp life, and movement-based learning—not classroom lectures.
  • Days filled with small-group workshops you shape, guided conversations, outdoor challenges, cultural sharing, and creative sessions that turn ideas into action.
  • Focus on self-discovery, empowerment, and community impact through nature-based leadership activities.
  • Leave inspired with a clear, youth-created plan to bring change home—and memories and skills forged in Alaska’s landscape.

Located near the mouth of the Stikine River, Wrangell is one of the oldest towns in Alaska. Now home to about 2,500 residents, Wrangell is the only town in Alaska to have existed under three flags and be ruled by four nations: Tlingit, Russia, England, and the United States. Vank Island is located in the coastal waters near Wrangell. The island has been inhabited by various Native groups, including the Tlingit, Haida, and Aleut tribes since time immemorial.

Ketchikan is considered Alaska’s “First City- The Salmon Capital of the World!”  It is considered the beginning of the Last Frontier, set at the inside Passage within Alaska’s Tongass National Forest. Ketchikan’s population is approximately 14,000 residents and is located on Revillagigedo Island; just an hour and a half plane ride from Seattle, WA. Ketchikan is accessible only by air or boat and its climate is mild but with an estimated rainfall of 140- 160 inches per year. The community is best known for salmon fishing, beautiful scenery, and an incredibly rich Alaska Native culture.
