Splash of Color Run

Our annual Splash of Color Run’s purpose is to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention in our Ketchikan community.

Participants show their support by taking part in this highly visible, collective demonstration. The event involves participants running or walking a lap while being showered with colored powder. It is a great community event that supports a vital cause!

Events Details:

  • What it is: A fun run and walk around Ward Lake
  • When: The event is held the month of April
  • Where: The run takes place at Ward Lake, Ketchikan
  • Purpose: To raise awareness and funds for mental health and suicide prevention in the Ketchikan community.
  • Participants: Open to youth and adults, with lower registration fees for younger participants.
  • Perks: Registrants receive a T-shirt and rainbow sunglasses while supplies last.
  • Organizers: Kayhi Rotary Interact and the Ketchikan Wellness Coalition.
  • Format: Participants run or walk a lap around Ward Lake. As a “color run,” participants are sprayed with different colors of powdered paint along the route.
