About
What is Ody S.E.A.?
A health equity summit for youth leaders aimed to facilitate youth centered, expert-driven conversations on health, health care disparities, and community prevention efforts. We are “charting a path to wellness” through Self Discovery, Empowerment, and Action.
Each day will include exploring how values, culture, and beliefs shape leadership; understanding individual power and strength to achieve goals; and engaging activities that identify actions our communities need most to move towards progress.
Who Should Attend
Open to youth/young adults ages 14yrs – 21yrs. We want local youth leaders, aspiring change makers, student-led civic, engaged learners, high school athletic groups, faith-based groups, youth mentors and advocates.
Why Should I Attend & What to Expect?
The goal is to engage youth leaders to develop and implement efforts to improve overall health and wellness in their communities. From topics on mental health to cultural identity, from drug prevention to suicide prevention – we want these attendees to lead in movements for change.
Day 1: “Culture of Wellness” Youth Understanding of Social Determinants of Health
Day 2: “Culture as Medicine” Uplifting and appreciating one’s beliefs, values, and customs to improve overall health and wellness; ensuring a culturally relevant approach to care.
Day 3: “Culture of Youth”
